The exhibition catalog for Ven. Woongsahn’s photography exhibition, SAHN, Walking the Path, has been completed.

This catalog brings together photographs and writings from his journey along the Pacific Crest Trail, stretching from the Mexican border to the Canadian border.

Through desert and snow, forests and ridgelines, wind and silence, each step became more than a record of hiking. It became a path of practice.

We invite you to experience the landscapes, reflections, stillness, and spirit of practice that Ven. Woongsahn encountered along the trail.

웅산 스님의 PCT 사진전 《산, 길을 걷다》의 전시 도록이 완성되었습니다.

이 도록은 멕시코 국경에서 캐나다 국경까지 이어지는 Pacific Crest Trail 여정 속에서 스님이 직접 기록한 사진과 글을 담고 있습니다.

사막과 눈길, 숲과 능선, 바람과 침묵의 시간 속에서 한 걸음씩 이어진 산길은 단순한 하이킹의 기록을 넘어 수행의 길로 다시 태어났습니다.

이번 도록을 통해 길 위에서 만난 자연, 사유, 고요, 그리고 수행자의 마음을 함께 느껴 보시기 바랍니다.

Venerable Woongsahn’s photo exhibition, “Walking the Mountain Path,” will be held at EK Gallery in Los Angeles from June 27 to July 3, 2026. The exhibition presents photographs and stories from his completion of the Pacific Crest Trail, a roughly 2,650-mile journey from the Mexican border to the Canadian border. A PCT Photo Talk is scheduled for the opening day, where he will share his long-distance hiking experience, preparation process, and reflections from the trail.

웅산스님의 PCT 완주 경험을 담은 사진전 「산, 길을 걷다」가 2026년 6월 27일부터 7월 3일까지 로스앤젤레스 EK Gallery에서 열린다. 이번 전시는 멕시코 국경에서 캐나다 국경까지 이어지는 약 2,650마일의 퍼시픽 크레스트 트레일을 걸으며 직접 촬영한 풍경과 여정의 기록을 소개한다. 개막일에는 PCT Photo Talk도 진행되어 장거리 트레일 경험과 준비 과정 등을 나누는 시간이 마련된다.

Ven. Woongsahn Sunim, abbot of LA Anguk Seon Center, will present a photography exhibition titled “Mountain, Walking the Path” at EK Gallery in Koreatown, Los Angeles, from June 27 to July 4.

The exhibition features photographs taken during his 96-day completion of the Pacific Crest Trail, a roughly 2,650-mile journey from the Mexican border to the Canadian border. Through the eyes of a Buddhist practitioner, the images capture nature, endurance, and the practice of focusing on each step in the present moment.

A special “PCT Photo Talk” will be held on opening day, June 27, at 1:00 p.m.

LA 안국선원 주지 웅산스님이 퍼시픽 크레스트 트레일(PCT)을 완주하며 직접 촬영한 사진들을 선보이는 사진전 ‘산, 길을 걷다’가 6월 27일부터 7월 4일까지 LA 한인타운 EK 갤러리에서 열린다.

이번 전시는 멕시코 국경에서 캐나다 국경까지 이어지는 약 2,650마일의 PCT를 96일 만에 완주한 여정 속에서 만난 자연과 수행의 순간들을 담고 있다. 웅산스님은 산행을 취미나 정복이 아닌, 마음을 비우고 현재의 한 걸음에 집중하는 수행의 연장으로 바라본다.

전시 첫날인 6월 27일 오후 1시에는 **‘PCT 포토 토크’**도 함께 진행된다.

LA Anguk Seon Center, under the Overseas Special Parish of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, officially completed its registration as an overseas temple on March 24, 2026. The certificate of appointment for the head monk, Ven. Woongsan, was received on behalf of the temple at the parish office. This milestone strengthens the foundation for international Buddhist outreach.

대한불교조계종 해외특별교구 소속으로 LA 안국선원(주지 웅산스님)이 2026년 3월 24일 해외사찰 등록을 완료했습니다. 주지 임명장은 해외특별교구 사무실에서 안국선원 관계자가 대리 수령하였으며, 등록 및 임명을 통해 해외 포교 기반이 더욱 강화되었습니다.

In January 2026, LA Anguk Seon Center hosted a Ganhwa Seon retreat led by Ven. Subul sunim. Participants immersed themselves in hwadu practice, learning to embrace thoughts as part of the path while gaining clarity, calm, and renewed energy.

2026년 1월, LA 안국선원에서 수불 큰스님 초청 간화선 집중수행이 성황리에 진행되었습니다. 참가자들은 화두 수행을 통해 자신을 돌아보고, 깊은 몰입과 마음의 여유를 경험하는 뜻깊은 시간을 보냈습니다.

Subul Sunim has been appointed as the Sujwa (chief meditation monk) of Beomeosa Temple. He will continue to promote Ganhwa Seon practice and contribute to the wider popularization of Korean Buddhism.

LA Anguk Seon Center in Los Angeles has become an official temple after years of effort by a small group of devoted practitioners. It now operates as a practice-focused center, offering Seon meditation, teachings, intensive retreats, and youth programs to support ongoing Buddhist practice.

로스앤젤레스의 LA 안국선원은 소수의 불자들이 어려운 환경 속에서도 수행을 이어온 끝에 정식 사찰로 자리 잡았습다. 현재 선명상과 법문 중심의 수행 도량으로 운영되며, 집중 수행과 청년회 프로그램 등을 통해 불교 수행을 지속적으로 이어가고 있습니다.
